ONDO Token Dips 3% Despite $250M Pantera Capital RWA Partnership
Ondo Finance's ONDO token dropped 3% on Friday, failing to rally despite a major $250 million deal with Pantera Capital to boost real-world asset (RWA) tokenization. This partnership, part of Ondo's Catalyst program, marks one of the biggest institutional investments in RWA infrastructure since the sector emerged as crypto's next frontier.
While derivatives markets showed bullish signals with rising open interest and funding rates, spot prices remained capped by technical resistance. Ondo has been unable to break a two-month downtrend despite this positive fundamental development.
"Tokenizing traditional financial assets represents the most significant infrastructure shift since electronic trading," commented Pantera's Paul Veradittakit. The funding will support ecosystem growth and project evaluations, though declining daily active addresses raise questions about near-term adoption.
